Letter from Sherril

I am a servant of the Most High God, and a follower of my Lord Jesus Christ

Dear Pastor Geoff,

I know you like the " But Gods" in the Bible: I do too. and I had a but God day yesterday.

3-25-25 Conquering my mountains.

My first challenge was to take a shower in my motel room, they had a small bathtub with no mat on the tub service. Also, they did not give me too many towels, I do not like standing in a tub without a mat, but I felt like the Lord was telling me to do it, and to trust him to hold me up, like He has been doing through all of this journey. He told me this would be the first mountain that I would conquer that day, note He did say first.

I did it, I used a terry cloth jacket to put down on the bathroom floor, so I would not slip after getting out of the tub. I successfully conquered my first mountain.

So my mission for the day was to pay my deposit for my apartment, and then pick up the keys all of this at my realtor's office. I did get to their office and picked up the keys so then it was to go look at my new apartment, actually really for the first time. This led me to the 2nd mountain of the day.

Not the Right Place.

To say this place was horrible would be an understatement. I will never ever buy anything especially an apartment sight not seen off the internet ever again. I did ask one of my brothers if one of his sons who lives in Des Moines could check the place out for me, all that got back to me was. They would not recommend it because there was a tire plant in the area. I thought to myself what does a tire plant have to do with an apartment?

No Internet

This brings me to the third mountain for the day. I did not see my ATT internet box in the apartment, I had texted him ( my RE agent) and asked him to have it picked up, it was supposed to be delivered to my Oklahoma address, but it did not, ATT sent it to where the internet was going to be. My realtor texted me back that he would have it picked up, but as of right now we do not know where it is. He is looking into it, and I also got in touch with ATT and reported it as missing so they are checking into it too.

Real Estate Agent Contact

So this brings me to the fourth mountain of the day. I right away tried to contact my RE agent to talk to him, but could not reach him. I called, texted him, and left a message for him to call me back. Finally, two hours later he did. Then I broke down while on the phone with him.

I started crying, " I should not have taken it, it is a horrible area, I like the inside somewhat but I do not like that area"

I finally calmed down when I heard him say" Sherril, Sherril it is ok we will help you."

I said, " I do not know what to do?"

He said, " let me go in and talk to my manager and I will call you right back." I said " OK"

This time it was just a few minutes not hours and He did call me about a new apartment he sent me a text about.

Keep in mind at this time I would have said yes to just about anything, but I did ask can I go see it. He said, "Yes, I can show it to you right now."

This apartment is on a street called Grand ( not saying on the blog) I call it my Grand apartment. The only thing this one does not have in it that the other one did is a washer and dryer in the unit. But the laundry room is just two doors down from me and is secure with a key I and the other residents in the complex will each have one. Much better than the one here in OK where the laundry facility is around the building, not good to do laundry in bad weather, or after a snow storm. I told him I love it, and I do, He gave me the new key to my new more grand apartment.

So now we get to the But God moments of the day.

Burden of prayer on Evy.

My friend Evy had texted me are you ok today Sherril, I said yes but I had to go out the see the Real Estate agent about my place, so this was right after mountain one, but before mountain two. Later when I did text her about my day she said that she had such a burden to pray for me that day and that I was very emotional. I said yeah it has been a tough day, but God did get me through it. Thank God for such a great Prayer warrior friend, and she is just one. I have several.

Favor with the Real Estate Company

I thank God this Real Estate agent, and the company did take pity on me and helped me get into a different more grand apartment. Thank you, God for favor.

Carriers for the Cats.

Wendy one of my nieces called to say she did find from a co-worker of hers a sturdy cat carrier for one of my cats, and Evy said one of our mutual friends has one she is not using that I can have.. So that did work out ok I have two pet taxis for my cats.

I got my first interview for an Iowa job.

I got an email to do a video interview for a job in West Des Moines IA. It would only be around 30 minutes from where I will be living, and it is a back office on sight medical administration job for a really nice Chiropatric clinic in West Des Monies, I checked out there website thoroughly it looks like it would be a nice fit for me, and I was glad I had brought on of my nices shirts I have which I put on to interview in. I did it on 3-24-25 in the motel room. The pay for this position would be close to the same pay I was making at my last job in OK. and it does include full benefits.

So four mountains conquered today, and four wonderful but God moments. I am doing well, and I am following God.
